The Flying Fish takes its name from nature's real long distance glider. To take off, a flying fish accelerates underwater to speeds of over 35 mph (56 km/h), beating its tail up to 70 times a second before breaking the surface and spreading its wing-like pectoral fins to glide on ocean air currents. A single glide can cover around 650 feet (200 m), and by tapping its tail back into the water for a quick boost, a flying fish has been recorded travelling up to 1,312 feet (400 m) and staying airborne for 45 seconds. Our Ocean Waste Pacific plastic is made from 100% waste recycled plastic collected from the ocean, like fishing nets, bottles, drums and other plastic marine waste materials. These are sorted and reground into tiny plastic pellets, ready to be regenerated into new 100% recycled discs and has the potential to be recycled again. As well as being a solution on waste, regenerated pacific plastic is also better for the environment and a sustainable future for disc golf.
